Exodus 23:29-31

²⁹ I will not drive them out from before you in a single year lest the country remain deserted and the wild beasts multiply against you. ³⁰ Little by little I will drive them out before you until you have many sons to occupy the land.

³¹ “I will establish your borders from the Red Sea up to the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the river. I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hands and I will drive them out from before you.
